Jeanno Gaussi / Director


(Born in Kabul) She grew up in Delhi and Berlin. Jeannette studied Communication Design and is an artistic member at the Volksbühne Theatre Berlin since 2006. Jeannette was cofounder of the Artspace NewYorkRioTokyo e.V. and Gallery E4* in Berlin. Jeannette is working at several Film- und Art-Projects, additional she experienced as a curator in Berlin and Bombay. She visited Afghanistan in 2007, for the first time since she left the country at the age of five. Jeannette took part at several International Film Festivals as, Berlinale Talent Campus, International Shortfilm-Festival Oberhausen, International Festival for Documentary and Animated Film Leibzig, Karachi Filmfestival, Filmfestival Dresden… 2007 she was awarded at the German Competition of the 54st International Filmfestival Oberhausen with the first prize. Here Film “Three Notes” is listed as one of the 100 best German Short Films 2007, accessorily the work was nominated for the great German Film-Award 2007.

Gregor Streiber / Producer



(Born in Berlin) Gregor Streiber studied law at Freie Universität Berlin. 2001 he founded inselfilm produktion and werwiewas medienproduktion Berlin. Since 2001 Streiber works as a producer of fiction and nonfiction films with inselfilm produktion and werwiewas medienproduktion.

Magdalena Gorgieva / Creativ Producer



(Born in Berlin)Magdalena grew up as the oldest daughter of Macedonian immigrants and later studied Theater Arts, Art History and Sociology in Berlin, Bayreuth and Bamberg. Since 2006 Magdalena has been working as production assistant for ”zero one film” in Berlin, one of the leading companies for documentary film in cinema and TV. Currently she is in charge of the logistical organization for the documentary series: „Die kulinarischen Abenteuer der Sarah Wiener in Italien“ – „The culinary adventures of Sarah Wiener in Italy“. The series will air on the German-French TV-channel ARTE soon. Magdalena achieved her organizational as well as artistic skills during her numerous and versatile places of work. Amongst other things she worked for the press department of the world famous Bayreuther Festspiele, at the Kunstmuseum Bayreuth, where she was part of the organizational team for the exhibition „Caspar Walther Rau“, she was the dramatic advisor for the program of the play “Taking sides” by Ronald Harwood at the Studiobühne Bayreuth and assisted the theatrical pedagogy department at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. „Ahmad Zahir“ is her first co-worked documentary.

Dirk Heth / Cinematographer


(Born in Leipzig, Germany) Dirk Heth studied Cinematography from 1990 till 1995 at the Film & Television Academy (HFF) “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam, Germany. He was an artistic-research assistant at the Film & TV Academy (HFF) „Konrad Wolf“ for Cinematography. Since 2007 Heth is teaching Cinematography as an academic at the Film & TV Academy (HFF) „Konrad Wolf“. He is developing Documentaries for TV and Cinema and works as a freelance Cinematographer for the public TV channels: like ARD, ZDF, RBB, NR, and MDR. In June 2008 he accompanied Jeannette Gaussi for the first trip to Afghanistan to work on the Documentary-Project „The Nightingale of Kabul“. Heth's recent documentary „Eggesin“, 84 Minutes was nominated for the „Filmkunstpreis“ Ludwigsburg at the Festival German Cinema.
